II. Early Geologic Ages
Precambrian:
The continents, once close, begin to drift apart.
Paleozoic:
Appearance of first flying reptiles and insects; origin of "the birds
and the bees."
Mesozoic:
Utterance of the earliest ultimatum:
|
"I wouldn't go out
with you if you were
the last dinosaur
on earth!"
|
Cenozoic:
Calcium carbonate shells of marine plants and animals create formations
of chalk, prehistoric ancestor of Valentine candy.
Ice Age and Great Flood:
Only couples cruise known to end peacefully.
Stone Age:
Time of decreased pressure on dating couples; that is, among largely nomadic
peoples, the question of "settling down" was beside the point.
Still, archaeological evidence points to an evolutionary insult commonly
used by Neanderthal women: "He's such a Cro-Magnon!"
