MEDDLING MOMS!

Dear Breakup Girl,

My boy friend and I broke up last night on a totally mutual level. I said that he wasn't treating me with respect and either he could do that or break up with me. I tried to do it nicely and he said he wanted to be friends. I was kinda taken aback but I was ok with it. Well he asked me and my mom to go to a movie with him and his mom tonight because our moms are good friends. It was so awkward, I didn't talk to him, and my mom told me that his mom totally blames me!! I didn't do anything harmful but now she's giving me these weird looks! I think he told her the wrong info or she got majorly confused becuase what we did was a mutual agreement. How should I handle this and still stay best friends with my ex?

-- Danielle

Dear Danielle,

Who's in high school here, you or your moms? If you two want to stay friends, hang out unchaperoned.

Love,
Breakup Girl
