Dear Breakup Girl,
Do you think it's strange to be a 22-year old male and still be
a virgin? I don't mean to be sexist, but
though I can see a girl holding out for the right guy (as I am still doing at
20), it, for some nagging reason, makes me feel uneasy to know that the guy
I'm seeing (age 22) is still a virgin. Again, not to apply the double
standard, but frankly, I find myself wondering why? whenever this comes
to mind. My point is, BG, Do you think I'm making a bigger deal of this than
it actually is? I would really appreciate your invaluable input. And as far
as knowing him, I don't KNOWknow him yet. Met through Matchmaking from a Trusted
source. He seems like a nice guy, and I don't wanna be blind to something possibly
good because of a perhaps small and insignificant, nevertheless nagging something.
-- Is Double Standard the Standard?
Dear Is Double Standard the Standard,
Interesting -- and understandable -- question.
But I'd say all you need to do is apply the Single
Double Standard, as in "There's gotta be a 'reason' why he's still single...Oh,
wait. I'm still single...". Can't say for sure if you'll be each
others' firsts, but I can say you should give him a second chance.
Love,
Breakup Girl
