Dear Breakup Girl,

I'm 18 years old and not usually sad over guys, but there is this guy, Johnathon, who I met one night. We ended up fooling around that night, but now we aren't together. He just got in a wreck over swerving for a dog in the road, so I know he's a sweet guy. I found out real late at night, so I couldn't do anything, but this other girl got to the hospital before me and now he is interested in her and putting me on the back burner. I just want to know if there is a chance they won't work out and he would come back to me??? One-night stands are so not cool, but John is not usually like that, nor am I. Is there any way you think we would get back together? He still tells me to call him and stay friends, but I really want him back more than that. I am willing to wait on him and his new girl if there is a chance me and him will hook back up afterwards.

Dear Lauren,

I guess I get what you mean about the dog, but I would caution you to note that "avoids hurting animals" is a given, not a plus.

Other than that, well, I'm sorry that you happened to lose the race to the ER to Front-Burner Nightingale, but I can't really issue any predictions on what will happen with them. I'd say sure, let him know you'd be interested, but don't, like, hang around the hospital. Step back and let him drive -- carefully -- over to you.
