Dearest Breakup Girl,

Lately, I have been interested in astrology, and the whole astrological area. I have recently been looking at compatibility charts, and am wondering if they are true to their word. I matched my sign with a prospective suitor's sign, and the astrological chart said that we were completely opposite. It also said that we would never make it as a couple. This made me upset. My questions is this: Are these astrological love compatibility charts for real, and should I heed their warning, or should I just ignore the whole deal and follow my heart??

Oh, who knows? On the one hand, the one time I had my charts done, some revelations were positively uncanny -- unlike, on the other hand, the conversation I've transcribed here from a tv-astrologer commercial.

ASTROLOGER TO CALLER, WHO HAS CALLED BECAUSE SHE IS UPSET ABOUT SOMETHING: "You sound emotionally upset."

CALLER: "You're right!"

Even BG can't say which or what is for real here -- so do it for fun, AC. If Astrology Queen or Fearless Ophira (both of whose Aquarius descriptions are so BG) can shed a little light, fine. But if you were willing to go so far as to, say, dump someone because of one chart, I'd say maybe it wasn't in the stars in the first place.
