Dear Breakup Girl,
I've been dating this guy pretty seriously for about 2 months now. Last
night I got really drunk and when I got home I called him. When he finally let
me go, I was going to call my ex-boyfriend that I dated for a year and half. I
dialed my current boyfriend's number instead and I asked for my ex. I don't
have any feelings for my ex but what should I do to get my current boyfriend to
not be mad at me?
-- Julie
Dear Julie,
Ah, yes. The good old three-way conference call with
Jack Daniels. What you needed was the Breakup Phone, whose redial function not
only calls back whomever you just called, but also takes back whatever you just
said.
But how to fix things now? Tell and show. Tell
Boyfriend you get why he's mad and that you could not be more mortified and
sorry; show him that you think he and only he is the cat's meow.
That is, of course, if that's the case. I mean, my
research shows that when you're drunk is not when you get out your to-do
list and try to bang through all those calls you owe people you don't have
feelings for. Do I have your number, Julie? Your call.
Love,
Breakup Girl
