Predicament of the Week
In which Breakup Girl addresses the situation that has, this
week, brought her the most (a) amusement, (b) relief that it is happening to
someone else, and/or (c) proof that she could not possibly be making this stuff
up.
Dear Breakup Girl,
I have a crush on this really cute guy named Jake, but his mom is my teacher
in school and also my best friend.
How do I tell her I have a crush on her son? How should I tell Jake? Please
help as soon as possible.
-- BritneyLover
Dear BritneyLover,
Ooh, you are so lucky!
You have:
1. a crush
2. a teacher you really look up to
3. already "met
the parents."
See? You're actually in excellent shape. In fact, I'm
not sure you really need to tell MomTeacher anything, unless you wind
up needing her to drive you guys somewhere. Plus I could just hear Jake being
all, "You told my mom first?!"
So if I were you, I'd just ask Jake, like, out. (Click
here for instructions.) Being a teacher and all,
bet Mrs. Jake will figure it out. And if she's your best friend, then she's
probably pretty fond of you, too. And would probably be pleased to hear that
you -- as opposed to, say, your evil arch rival (ChristinaLover?) -- have designs
on her son. (All of that said, a date with Jake should not count toward your
grade.)
Love,
Breakup Girl
